Safe, Bed-to-Bed Transport in Toronto & the GTA

When your loved one needs to travel lying flat — for a hospital discharge, a medical appointment, or a move between facilities — we handle the transfer from bed to bed. Two trained attendants. A confirmed pickup window, not "sometime today." You don't have to figure this out alone.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

Families and care teams call us every day because one of these situations sounds familiar:

"The hospital says my family member is ready for discharge — but we have no safe way to get them home."

"A regular vehicle or wheelchair van won't work. They need to lie flat the entire way."

"They have a medical appointment, but I can't take time off work — and they can't sit up in a regular vehicle."

"The appointment requires stretcher transport, a wait, and a return — I don't know who to call."

This is exactly what we do — every day.

When Is Stretcher Transportation Needed?

If your loved one can't sit upright safely, needs to remain lying flat during travel, or has been told by a care team that a regular vehicle isn't appropriate — stretcher transport is the right option.

This is a pre-scheduled, non-emergency service.

It's not an ambulance.

If you're facing a medical emergency, call 911.

How Can We Help?

Most people come to us for one of three reasons. Here's what each looks like.

Hospital Discharge — Getting Home Safely

After surgery, injury, or illness, sitting in a regular vehicle can be painful or medically unsafe. Your loved one needs to lie flat — and the hospital is ready to discharge them. We bridge that gap.

How we help:

  • From the hospital bed to the home bed — we handle the full transfer

  • Two attendants manage everything; you don't need to lift or assist

  • Confirmed pickup window, coordinated with the ward

Medical Appointments — With Wait & Return

For dialysis, oncology, wound care, or specialist visits — when your loved one can't travel in a regular vehicle and you can't take the day off to drive and wait.

How we help:

  • Stretcher transport to the appointment, with your choice of return option

  • Hold your crew and vehicle on-site, or schedule the return as a separate trip at an agreed time instead

  • Consistent timing — critical for recurring appointments like dialysis

Moving Between Facilities — Hospital to LTC or Rehab

Whether it's a discharge from hospital to long-term care, or a transfer between facilities — coordinating the move yourself while managing your family's wellbeing is a lot. We take that off your plate.

How we help:

  • We coordinate directly with both facilities — you don't have to relay information

  • Proper handover at each end, no gaps in care

  • You're kept in the loop throughout

What Happens When You Reach Out

Most families tell us they were surprised by how straightforward this was. Here's the process, start to finish.

1.   Tell us about the transfer

Call us or fill out the form — whichever feels easier.

We'll ask about the pickup and drop-off locations, how your loved one needs to be positioned, and when you're hoping to travel. That's it for now.

No commitment at this stage. For online form, typical response time during working hours: under 1 hour.

2.   You get a clear quote

Once we've confirmed availability, we send you a fixed, all-inclusive price — no add-ons after the fact.

You'll also get a specific pickup window. If we're coordinating with a hospital or facility, we handle that directly.

3.  Approve and confirm

Approve the quote and your slot is locked in.

If there's a facility involved, we'll coordinate with them so you don't have to act as the go-between.

4.  We handle the transfer

Two trained attendants arrive within your confirmed window.

They manage everything — from the bed onto the stretcher, into the vehicle, and to the destination bed. You don't need to lift, assist, or coordinate anything on the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the person need to use a wheelchair to qualify for stretcher transport? No. Stretcher transport is for anyone who needs to remain lying flat or semi-reclined during travel — regardless of whether they use a wheelchair day-to-day. If your loved one uses a wheelchair, a collapsible one can be secured inside the vehicle and brought along.

Do you provide stair assistance? Yes. Our crew brings a stair chair when needed. Just let us know about any stairs at the pickup or drop-off address when you book — we'll plan for it and make sure it's handled safely.

What does “bed-to-bed” service mean? It means exactly what it sounds like. We come inside, transfer your loved one from wherever they are — a bed, a sofa, an entry area — onto the stretcher, and bring them to the same kind of setup at the destination. You don't need to move them to the door or lobby first.

Do you offer wait-and-return service? You have three return options, and the difference matters: 1. One-Way Transfer — drop-off only. You arrange the way home, whether that's your own plan or a new booking once you know the timing. 2. Reserved Treat & Return — we hold the same vehicle, stretcher, and crew through the entire appointment, so they're already there the moment your loved one is ready. 3. Two Scheduled Trips — for particularly long appointments. We complete the outbound trip, then the return is booked separately, as its own scheduled trip with a confirmed pickup time.

How much notice is required to book? We recommend booking as early as you can — especially for hospital discharges, where dates can shift. That said, we understand situations don't always give you lead time. Short-notice transfers are subject to crew availability; contact us and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it work.

I booked Aurevia for my grandmother, and it honestly made such a difference! The team was kind, patient, and really took the time to make her feel comfortable.

Knowing she was treated with care and respect gave me real peace of mind. She even told me how nice everyone was afterward. I’d definitely recommend them!

I can’t recommend Nathaniel, Reon, and Aurevia enough! They were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Because I was a few minutes late from work, they personally met me at the hospital and walked me to my dad. They discharged him for me and made the whole experience completely stress-free.

They treated him with kindness and respect, not just like a patient, and had such positive, comforting energy throughout. Even in a stressful situation, they provided a supportive ear and made me feel confident in my decisions. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care went above and beyond — truly an incredible team and company!

My 87-year-old mother needed transportation to the hospital for a medical procedure. Aurevia arrived when they said they would and safely transported her to the hospital. They also waited until she was transferred to a bed and were very flexible upon pick up as we didn’t know exactly when she would be finished. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the gentlemen transporting her. They were very gentle with her and kind. The vehicle was spotless and I would rate them higher than 5 stars if I could!
